Bill’s House

Bill’s House is a collaborative effort to create avenues to self-sustainable housing for Columbia County’s homeless population. The partnership between Community Strategies Group, Columbia County Housing Authority, The Gatehouse Shelter, and Agape converted a vacant church in Bloomsburg’s historic residential neighborhood into the region’s first transitional housing facility. Thanks in large part to Bloomsburg resident Bill Brobst’s generous donation of the property, Community Strategies Group was able to preserve much of the architectural features, including 75% of the stained glass and a large portion of the sanctuary that now serves as a community art gallery. Residents of Bill’s House receive weekly case management and regular social and financial programming for up to two years while they prepare for sustainable long term housing.
